But more often than not, I’d finish the project and still wonder:

And I kept hearing the same thing from other knitters:

After 10+ years of knitting (read: unravelling) and a degree in dressmaking, I realized there was a logic behind it all.

And despite ALL the knitting books and tutorials out there, nothing gave me the full picture in one place. The only way to gain this knowledge was to spend thousands of hours doing the thing.

Now, I'm all for nerding out on something I'm interested in. But what made me go from "what is this tangle of sticks and string??" to "I am the commander of this yarn!" was not some secret fermented sauce brewed under a harvest moon by yarn gremlins and sprinkled on future designers.
