What knitters are saying 👀

Hi, knitting friend!

If you've ever found yourself staring at a knitting pattern going, "Why the heck is it telling me to do THAT?"

...this guide is for YOU.

Or maybe you've been blindly following instructions for years, learned tons of different techniques, and still haven't found a decent explanation for why you should use one cast-on over another.

When I first started knitting, this was my #1 pet peeve.

I'd start knitting a pattern, only to head over to YouTube to learn a new type of increase. I'd think, "Maybe this pattern has a secret reason it needs this technique and I'll find out halfway through?"

But by the time I finished my project, I still had zero idea why I couldn't have just used a technique I already knew.

Fast forward more than 10 years. I've knit dozens of sweaters and gifted more pairs of socks than I can count. Somewhere along the line, I realized I'd started ignoring pattern instructions and substituting techniques more often than not.

By the time I started designing patterns, I'd tried hundreds of different techniques...

...and I realized there was a method behind the madness.

Techniques aren't arbitrary. They solve specific problems.

But almost nobody talks about why you would choose one over another.

So I wrote the guide I wish I'd had when I started knitting.

I distilled 15 years of knitting experience into this one document.

It contains 14 of my favourite knitting techniques and, more importantly, why I like to use them. I've organized them by type and included links to tutorials for each one, so you can use this guide as a reference for any project.

My hope is that after reading it, you'll spend less time wondering whether there's some hidden reason a pattern tells you to use a particular technique—and more time confidently choosing the one that's right for your project.

Think of it as a shortcut to years of experience. 😏

Can't wait to see what you knit with this!
